Phase One Development Application Approval for Naawi-Oodena

Canada Lands Company is pleased to announce that on July 17, 2025, Winnipeg City Council formally approved Phase One of the development application for the Canada Lands-owned portion of the Naawi-Oodena property. This important milestone builds on the Secondary Plan that was adopted in January 2024 and represents another step forward in realizing the vision for this historic site.

Phase One will introduce a dynamic mix of much-needed housing options, as well as a community park, and a new commercial space in Winnipeg’s Tuxedo area. These elements reflect the collaborative planning efforts between Canada Lands Company and the Treaty One Nations partners, and supports the creation of an inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable community.
