Canada Lands Company acquired the Cité du Havre site as part of ongoing efforts to create more housing opportunities for Montréalers.
This historic site previously served as part of the grounds for Expo 67, the world’s fair that marked a defining moment in Montréal’s history. The site is located on the Mackay Pier, an artificial peninsula originally built to protect the Old Port of Montréal from the currents of the Saint Lawrence River.
The two parcels are located in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough. The first is a residential site (Parcel A) that covers approximately 8.91 hectares (22.01 acres) and is zoned for high-density housing. The second parcel (Parcel B) is 1.6-hectares (3.9 acres) in size and zoned as a green space site. Canada Lands Company anticipates completing the acquisition of Parcel B in 2026.
Our Real Estate team looks forward to engaging with the City of Montréal, the local community and stakeholders as the development plans unfold for the iconic site. To stay informed on future updates related to Cité du Havre, subscribe using the link below.
