Canada Lands Company announces its Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for the National Capital Region
Ottawa, ON -- Canada Lands Company announced 14 members to its newly-created Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for the National Capital Region (NCR). This initiative is part of the Company’s commitment to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing across its properties in the region.
The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is an advisory body comprised of people with lived experiences, affordable housing advocates and professionals with knowledge and experience in research, design, management and delivery of affordable housing. The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee will meet regularly to offer key insights and maintain dialogue with partners and organizations that specialize in affordable housing delivery and management.

In 2023, Canada Lands Company set an affordable housing target of at least 20 per cent across its portfolio, where a municipal requirement does not exist. In the past year alone, the Company enabled more than 4,100 new housing units, 35 per cent of which were affordable, representing a significant increase compared to previous years
A request for applicants was issued in the summer of 2025 inviting individuals with experience in the design, development and management of affordable housing to contribute their time and knowledge to support this important work.
